The Kandahar, Afghanistan vector data consists of a set of 12 detailed layers. This GIS data is trilingual, with features in English, Pashto, and Dari (Afghan Persian).
Blocks- Consists of over 3000 city block polygons.
Buildings- Over 90,000 building footprints with type and subtype listed in English, Pashto, and Dari.
Infrastructure- Point, line, and polygon infrastructure layers. Some examples of features include; reservoirs, transportation features, power stations, power lines, bridges, culverts, and wells.
Land Use- Urban, Rural, Unimproved, and Water land use types, as well as further specified subtypes including, but not limited to; barren land, bog, river bed, crop land, industrial, and commercial.
Roads- Over 11,000 major, minor, and tertiary road lines. Given name, alternative names, and standard names are all listed in Dari, English, and Pashto (when available). The layer also includes footpaths and trails.
Trees- Over 7,000 individual tree points.
Urban Area- General outline of the Kandahar urban area.
Water Features- Point, line, and polygon water features ranging from rivers to springs to drainage ponds.
